As a candidate you need to give the priority of your recent work experience and achievement. For example, I have been working with XYZ Company for last five years where I am actively involved with marketing and sales. I was able to increase 10% customer base in my previous job. My strength is analytical capability, communication skills, building strong network with people, educating myself through books, journals and seminars.

When the Interviewer asks the candidate “Why are you leaving your existing job?”

Your suggested answer could be like; as you may be aware that due to technology there are many jobs are becoming obsolete which is forcing companies to lay off existing employees. Due to technological changes along with consumer preference trend has changed over the last few years; our company is looking for different business path. I do respect their decision and I am looking for opportunity where my skills can be unitized.

When the Interviewer asks the candidate “what is your career goal?”

You can focus your goal as per short term and long term goal. The short term goal will be to be part of the team and contribute to the whole team where good opportunities are available and as part of the long term goal, I want to move progressively as the company grows.

When the Interviewer asks the candidate “what are your strengths?”

When you are talking about your strengths, do not only mention about your on job skill. You talk about your interpersonal skills (emotional intelligence). You may say I started with my existing company as an Assistant Accountant 4 years ago, due to my good System skills and analytical skills I am moved to senior Management Accountant position where I do strategic business reporting for internal stakeholders along with external customers regarding our business process improvement planning along with KPI (key performance indicator) reporting. I am skilled at breaking down complex issues and explaining to non accounting background stakeholders.

When the Interviewer asks the candidate “what are your weaknesses?”

No one likes to tell their weaknesses, sometimes people are not consciously aware of their weaknesses. Be prepared to face these kinds of questions and you need to skillfully answer this question. Literally, everyone has their weakness they believe it or not. In your answer to the interviewer, you can tell your behavioral issues (such as you used to focus on so many things at one time) and gradually you have found to do one thing at a time and dedicate 100% of your time in one thing rather than jumping to so many jobs at one time and getting upset of not able to completing that.

Some cases, interview asks situational based incidental questions like” what if” scenarios. What you will be doing if you face a challenging situation which you have never faced earlier. Through those questions interviewers are looking to see how you can handle such kind of issue if arises in the future.

You need to tell that at first you will seek information and try to understand the purpose. Nest, doing research find if possible what was the nearest kind of scenarios were faced in prior. Then, I will develop a plan and discuss with others to take next actions. I will complete those necessary steps properly to complete the task or go through the checklist to confirm all steps are properly completed.
